Feature Requests

Today the Maps service (used by e.g. the Field Service Routing model) only supports vehicles of type "car". This request is to make it possible to specify different vehicle types (like trucks, or bikes).

This request is to allow configuring traffic impact on various dimensions (time, region etc) to adjust expected travel time for known traffic impact.

The Employee Shift Scheduling model supports queries for time worked, e.g. Maximum 160 hours per month. Maximum 40 hours per week. ... But it's cumbersome/impossible to do the inversion though, e.g. Maximum 30 free Sundays per year Minimum 11 consecutive hours off per day Minimum 2 consecutive days off per week This is a request to be able to specify rules for "non-working time".

"The employee contracts feature of Timefold allows to e.g. define maximum numbers of hours per day, or per week. These limits are for fixed timeframes. But certain labour laws, or company policies, or contracts might also have requirements for rolling time windows (e.g. maximum numbers of hours worked over a rolling time window of 48 hours). Such time windows can potentially also span longer than the planning window. This is a request to make that type of contract restrictions for rolling time windows possible."

This is a request for Timefold to build a model that assigns jobs to machines over days and weeks, optimizing for production efficiency, minimizing completion time and makespan, and balancing workloads across resources.

"We want to account for various location based constraints when assigning people to shifts, including: minimizing travel distance: absolute and by preferred zones minimizing travel time enough travel time between shifts: make sure there is enough time to move between shift A and B"

This request is for Timefold to build a model that assigns pickup-and-drop-off requests to vehicles, and route vehicles so that multiple pickups and drop offs can be made on the same trip, optimizing for vehicle capacity, efficient routing, and to minimize customer waiting times.

This is a request to build a comparison feature in the platform where two or more runs can be selected and their KPIs and run metrics be easily compared. These comparisons can then help with evaluating segments of model runs, or help with choosing the right optimization goals or do simulations and tests.
